I was going through all the comments on my blog, which happen to mostly be very odd and ridiculous spam, and I discovered a comment from a very old high school friend of mine. I gasped as I saw her name, realizing I don’t think I thought I would ever hear from her or see her again.
We were dearest of chums during the earlier years of high school, being googoogagah over all the boys, playing basketball for Coach Perkins, trying to start a 1950′s fad and failing miserably. Her family seemed just as crazy as my family. She was tall and slender and in my high school mind’s eye, drop dead gorgeous. She was my Annie and we had so much fun being silly together.
Here we are pretending to be a version of Anne of Green Gables and Diana Berry.

I have had a vision for a few years to gather all my old high school chums and have a little reunion. It would be so much fun to see everyone and hear their stories. Maybe when I put on pause this baby making season, I just might do that.
Here are some of the other gals I hung out with:

It’s hard to believe 15 years has gone by since high school.
Okay, now I feel old.

Tell me when and where and I’ll be there. You bring the Anne of Green Gables movies. I’ll bring Beaches and the popcorn. (Do you remember when you introduced me to Beaches? You didn’t warn me about the ending and I ended up balling for an hour. I was so mad at you!)
Oh, and I made an album out of those black and whites your mom took. I’ll bring that too.
I’ll be there too! We could meet up at Dillon Beach. We could use our beach house and your Mom’s place.
Shanel … you need to go to Facebook.com and join. ALL of us old chums are on it and it’s a total hs reunion. Krista Kazarian, Jalene, Hil, Annie, Jeremiah Sailer, Alissa Parkinson… I could go on and on… and you get to see pictures of them with their families!
Shanel is on Facebook, but she never checks it or posts! (not that I’m bitter or anything
This has made me laugh, especially the posed photos. I used to do the same with several of my friends in junior high. I wish I had all of my albums handy so I could scan them in. You were such a beautiful young lady, btw. (And still are a beautiful young lady, despite the two daughters, my dear!)
