Every year there is an annual Berkness (LoAnn’s side of the family) family reunion. LoAnn has a large family and everyone is multiplying as time goes on so it’s lots of people coming together. We rent a large camp in northern Wisconsin and have free reign of the place. It is on a beautiful lake with stunning sunsets. We cook our meals in the large industrial size kitchen and the walk in refrigerator. We have the freedom to do whatever, whenever we want. If you feel like taking a nap, you take a nap. If you want to shoot off rockets, you go to the big field and shoot off rockets. If you want to go canoing, you can go canoing. In past years, we have had more organized events and crafts, but this year it was super laid back. I had a wonderful time and was glad I went.
Audrey testing out the beautiful lake waters… It was stunning weather the whole time we were there and the water was clear and cool.
Here is the lovely Michelene (Ivan’s aunt with all the small children) floating in an innertube. This provided much entertainment for the little ones as they pushed her around in the water until her butt hit gravel. Oops.
Audrey is like the dudes in the Old Testament who lapped the water verses scooping it up with their hands. Yumm. Tasty lake water.
Me and my girl.
Puzzles are a tradition at the family reunion. People come and go with them, adding a piece here and there. This year the puzzle was a bit more tricky but they were determined and mastered it! Well done!
Elsbeth perches on the dock taking pictures of the canoe races. It was an exciting race coming into the shore. Of course, it was hard to tell who won.
Elyssa and Uncle Bill cruising along in their canoe. It was such a beautiful morning for a canoe ride.
Ivan and I canoing and being silly (Ivan more so than me, of course). He had to stand up in the canoe and pretend it was a gondola and serenade the lily pads.
The lovely Audrey Anne in her cute swimsuit and hat.
Hawaiian night. Aunt Kristy brought all the fixin’s for a Hawaiian luau night.
